Alma 2:20 Now this was a great cause for
lamentations among the people; While others were abasing themselves, succoring those who stood in need of their succor, Such as imparting their substance to the poor and the needy, feeding the hungry, And suffering all manner of afflictions for Christ's sake, which should come according to the spirit of prophecy, looking forward to that day; Thus retaining a remission of their sins,
3 Nephi 4:64 And their mourning was turned into joy, And their
lamentations into the praise and the thanksgiving unto the Lord Jesus Christ their Redeemer.
Mormon 1:36 And it came to pass that when I, Mormon, saw their
lamentations and their mourning and their sorrowing before the Lord, My heart did begin to rejoice within me, knowing the mercies and the longsuffering of the Lord, Therefore supposing that He would be merciful unto them, that they would again become a righteous people.
