committee to build mine houses, according to the commandments which I, the Lord God, have given unto you.

Revelation given through Joseph Smith, Jr., June 1, 1833, at Kirtland, Ohio. It should be studied in connection with sections 85:36, 90, and 91. Following the instruction contained in Doctrine and Covenants 85:36, a schoolhouse building
committee had been appointed. It consisted of Hyrum Smith, Jared Carter, and Reynolds Cahoon. This revelation modified the purpose of the
committee but retained the same personnel, which now became the building
committee for the temple.
DC 120:9b and from their number there may be selected by a
committee of conference composed of one of the First Presidency, the president of the Twelve and one other to be chosen by the Council of Twelve, the president of the high priests and one other to be chosen by that council of their number,

committee shall make these selections according to the spirit of wisdom and revelation that shall be given unto them, to provide that such council may be convened at any General Conference when emergency may demand, by reason of their residing at or near to places where conferences may be held.
