Hundreds of changes were made to every Book of Mormon edition after the original manuscript, including the RLDS 1908 edition.
While most of the Book of Mormon changes were insignificant (for example words "forever" became "for ever"), several were very significant.
In 1999 The Restored Covenant Book of Mormon was produced from the original manuscript exact words. The Restored Covenant Edition is the superior text for understanding what the Book of Mormon's message was about God and Redemption. Its text also maintains the original Hebrew phrases as best they can be understood in English.
About 45 changes between the 1908 and Original Manuscript affect meaning and even doctrine. Those changes are listed here.
These changes would not be apparent if the RCE had not been produced.
You will want to be aware of these differences. This tool allows you to Search words and find if verses differ between these editions.
